Fundraising and Friendraising
One of the great things about being involved with a non-profit is meeting like-minded people—and in the case of GGMC those folks are often the most caring, compassionate and involved individuals.
We recently got to know Dr. Karen Fountain, a retired radiation oncologist who treated AIDS patients in NYC during the height of the epidemic. She saw first-hand the discrimination and stigmatization faced by her patients, some who were abandoned by family and whose partners had no say in their medical care.
So she, like many of you, decided to make a difference—focusing her efforts right here in our community. We’re grateful that she’s an ally of the Chorus along with other organizations such as Pendleton Place and AID Upstate.
Our mission is to build community, foster compassion and inspire activism through our music. When we meet friends such as Dr. Fountain, we know we’re on the right path.
We’re continuing our efforts to fund two new sections of risers, and we’re over half-way there! We would be grateful for your donation and hope to get to know you, too.
